How can I send an Image Editor project to a customer?

Unless you customer has PRO Landscape installed they will not be able to view your PLP project file. You will need to save it as a file they can view.

  • Open the project.
  • Select FILE menu and EXPORT
  • Type a filename different from your project name and press SAVE. This will save it as a JPG image that your customer can easily view.
  • Attach the JPG to your customer’s email and send it.

An alternative method is to create a PDF document. To do this, select FILE and PRINT, change the print name to the Drafix PDF Writer and click OK. You will be then prompted to save it as a PDF. Assuming your customer has Adobe Acrobat installed, they should be able to view this file format.

I've accidently closed one of my toolbars, how do I restore a toolbar?

Go to the VIEW menu and select TOOLBAR. Recheck the toolbar and click OK. Your toolbar should now appear. Drag the toolbar into the position.

How do I erase existing plants from my background image?

We actually don’t “erase” the plants; we use our cloning tools to hide them. In Image Editor, you have two cloning tool options, Fixed and Floating. Both tools can be found on the DRAW > CLONE BRUSH menu. With the Fixed Clone tool, you select a rectangular source area and drag your brush over the destination area. The destination area will be a tiled with the originally selected source area. If a larger brush is needed, you can change the brush diameter in either the upper toolbar or by going to the TOOL > OPTIONS menu. Note that if you do change the brush size the brush diameter needs to be set prior to selecting the source area.

When using the Floating Clone tool, you click on the area to use as your source point, move to you destination point and click to start replicating the area that you selected as a source point. As you clone areas, use the FILE > FLATTEN PROJECT selection to flatten your cloned areas to the background image. Once you flatten the project, the cloned areas are flattened to the background and cannot be changed back to the original state.

Planner is not working, which versions of Windows are compatiable with my PRO Landscape version?

Over the years many changes have been made to the various versions of Windows. Some of these changes have affected PRO Landscape. Most of the conflicts will be found in Planner. Some of the most obvious error messages will be “Can’t create symbol library” or “Can’t find favorites” or the Planner program crashes soon after you start a drawing. The following is the compatibility guidelines for each version.

Microsoft Windows XP(Released 2002) – Compatible with PRO Landscape versions 8-19.

Microsoft Windows Vista(Released 2007) – Fully compatible with PRO Landscape versions 15.1-19. PRO Landscape versions 12-15.0 will need to be configured, contact technical support for assistance. PRO Landscape version 11 and under are not compatible with the Planner application and an upgrade would be required.

Microsoft Windows 7(Released 2009) – Fully compatible with PRO Landscape versions 15.1-19. PRO Landscape versions 12-15.0 will need to be configured, contact technical support for assistance. PRO Landscape version 11 and under are not compatible with the Planner application and an upgrade would be required.

PRO Landscape version 14 and under are not compatible with the Planner application and an upgrade would be required.

I'm running Symantec or Norton Anti-Virus and Planner will not run, how do I fix?

In order for your PRO Landscape program to run properly, you will need to make the following adjustment within your Symantec 2007, Norton Anti-virus 2007, or Norton Internet Security 2007 applications.

  1. Open your Symantec/Norton application by double clicking on the program icon located in the system tray next to your system clock in the lower right corner of your screen.
  2. Select the Internet Security tab or Norton Anti-Virus tab and then click on the Settings tab.
  3. In the Setting tab, click on Auto-Protect and select the Configure button.
  4. Under Advanced Options select Scan Exclusions.
  5. In the lower portion of the screen, under “Which disks, folders, or files to exclude from Auto-Protect scanning” select NEW
  6. Click on the open folder icon and browse to the folder located at C:/Program Files/Drafix and select this folder and OK. The Include Subfolder checkbox should be checked and select OK.

This change will only prevent the anti-virus auto-protect feature from interfering with PRO Landscape during its normal operation. Your anti-virus program will be scanning Drafix folders during full disk scanning processes.
